It is that time of the year again, when urban youth culture is fully expressed and displayed to the maximum. Easter season presents an amazing opportunity to unwind and catch ones breath from the work-related busyness that attends the beginning of each New Year. There is no better way to enjoy and maximise the season than to be at GIDI FESTIVAL 2017. The Gidi Culture Festival is an annual music and arts festival that takes place in the cosmopolitan and ever-active city of Lagos, Nigeria during Easter weekend. This festival came into being, out of a strong desire for responding to the demand for affordable and accessible live local youth culture events and entertainment in Africa.
Established in 2014 by its proprietor, Eclipse Live Africa, the festival serves as a platform that provides a venue for live bands, DJs and musical acts to perform while also featuring outdoor recreational activities as well as local vendors and artisans on-site. One of the highlights of the festival includes the much-anticipated line-up of African acts from countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Congo, South-Africa, Kenya and the United Kingdom. This contributes to the encouragement and development of African talent as well as the exportation of such talents into the overseas markets.
From its debut in 2014, The Gidi Culture Festival has maintained its uniqueness and continued to be an annual entertainment event that sets the tone for the rest of the year with respect to what events of its kind should be like. It has since become an event that defines Easter weekend and is a representation of how energetic young people recreate. GIDI FESTIVAL 2017 promises to live up to the excitement that has built up will totally exceed expectations as always and all attendees are guaranteed value for time and money spent.
