The 8th edition of the BEFFTA awards went down on Friday and Saturday night at the Rock Tower building in London hosted by legendary actor from the Hollywood blockbuster movie Pirates Of The Caribbean Dr Winston George Ellis and Media Mogul BEFFTA founder Dr Pauline Long. BEFFTA Awards is a distinctly special awards ceremony honouring the best showbiz and entertainment personalities in the black and ethnic communities in the UK, USA, Africa, Caribbean, Canada and globally. BEFFTA Awards is the first of its kind rewarding under one roof outstanding achievements and contributions from Africans, Caribbeans and Asians in entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts. Notable Nigerians such as Don Jazzy, Dbanj, Omotola Jalade, Sesan, Wale Ojo, Adebayo Jones, Asake Oge and Obi Emelonye have been awarded in the past. For the first time in its history will a made in Nigeria magazine win the category of “Magazine of the Year”. Its maiden edition was released in the year 2014 featuring Seyi Shay and it was distributed in over 10 countries. Its last edition featuring Falz The Bahd Guy seems to be its most successful edition.
